The holiday season is almost over, which means you may soon be looking at a wine stash in need of some restocking. With a few chilly months left to go, this week's Tasting Highlights focuses on red wines, featuring Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and blends from California, Oregon and Washington state, all worth seeking out during the winter doldrums. And after all, it's generally a good idea to keep one's Pinot Noir supply well-stocked.
Here, we have three Willamette Valley Pinot Noirs to consider. Brick House's version sits atop the list. Winery founder and winemaker Doug Tunnell's graceful and fragrant bottling is made from Brick House's first round of barrel selections, using grapes from vineyard blocks in the Ribbon Ridge subappellation of northern Willamette Valley. The wine aged 11 months in a mix of new and used French oak.
This selection also includes Björnson's Pinot Noir Eola-Amity Hills Reserve 2022, which has lively acidity and blueberry, raspberry and spice notes. Read on to get our score and full expert tasting note for this wonderful U.S. West Coast wine and six others.
