While France’s premier sparkling wine region is synonymous with its unique bubbly, Champagne covers a wide range of distinctive terroirs within its borders, including Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne and Côte des Bar. Bottlings from all these subregions thrived in recently released vintage and non-vintage cuvées. Read senior editor Alison Napjus’ tasting report to get scores and tasting notes for recently released standouts from top producers including Bollinger, Krug, Laurent-Perrier, Piper-Heidsieck, Taittinger and Alfred Gratien.
